A new blog about international crime fiction from folks who write the stuff
It's International Crime Authors Reality Check, a cooperative effort from Christopher G. Moore, Colin Cotterill, Matt Beynon Reese and Barbara Nadel, each of whom plans one post a week.
The opening lineup includes How the Devil Lost its Vagina from Cotterill, Quick, woman, go and get the Koran! from Rees, The Elements of Crime Fiction in Foreign Settings from Moore, and a modest greeting from Nadel.
The site also includes short biographies, information about the authors' books, and news links. I've written about three of the authors here on Detectives Beyond Borders, most recently about Cotterill's Curse of the Pogo Stick last week, and I'll look forward to adding Nadel to the list.

Peter - Is this your polite way of putting out a hit on these guys for stomping all over your territory?
Just say the word and you won't have to worry about them no more.
I just thought certain folks might be interested to know that all four of them are now to be found in one place. You'll have to ask Alice Hoffman if you want their home phone numbers, though.
No, Declan, I'm a broad-minded sort. I believe that there is a place for authors in discussions of fiction.
You're a sap, Rozovsky, with all this 'authors can be gentled' malarkey ... and you're gonna bring us all down with ya!
OK, a Belfast six-pack for each of them.
As big admirers of DW/oB, the new blog is really just a way of linking to your blog, Peter. We're also prepared to feature news on detective fiction taking place in Philadelphia, which presumably doesn't qualify for your blog... ;)
Well, there is an event in Philadelphia next year ...
Matt, I gave y'all's new blog a plug at LibraryThing.
Thanks, Peter, for the tip on this new blog. It is, as well you know, of special interest to me.
Cheers,
Leighton
You're welcome. With respect to special interest, I had not noted the obvious fact that, like you, all four of these authors write about countries of which they are not natives. I can well imagine this might sharpen their perceptions to certain aspects of daily living that lifelong residents might miss -- and other authors have made this very point.
