About Me
- Name: Peter Rozovsky
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
This blog is a proud winner of the 2009 Spinetingler Award for special services to the industry and its blogkeeper a proud former guest on Wisconsin Public Radio's Here on Earth. In civilian life I'm a copy editor in Philadelphia. When not reading crime fiction, I like to read history. When doing neither, I like to travel. When doing none of the above, I like listening to music or playing it, the latter rarely and badly. Click here to find an independent bookstore near you.

Are you in London, or is this from a recent trip.
I love the pillar and horseman under the moon, although any mention of Kenneth Branagh and Shakespeare always makes me prick up my ears.
I am. I've spent two days here, and I head for Crimefest tomorrow.
I thought it might be Crimefest related.
The pre-Crimefest portion took an unexpected crime-fiction turn. Lisa Brackmann, whose name you may know, posted a Trafalgar Square picture on Facebook similar to one I had just posted. "Are you in London?" I asked her in a comment.
Turns out she was here, to do some events, and I met her and some friends of hers for drinks, dinner, and a club, to hear music--first time I had done that years. It was an enjoyable and highly unexpected evening.
Very nice. Yes, I do know her name, though I haven't read her yet.
It's nice when the virtual world leads back to the non-virtual one.
What's even cooler, is that I could have hooked up with another U.S. crime writer I know and whose work I have read who is in the London on vacation, but I think he must have had dinner plans with his wife, because he sent out an invitation for drinks, but I was partied out after the club.
It was good fun Lisa and her friends have played in bands, know something about music, and were able to discuss the music in terms that went beyond "Awesome!" and "That sucks."
I figured you'd notice the Branagh. Sir Kenneth is not in that production, but Derek Jacobi is. I may try to get a ticket for after Crimefest.
Yes, I'd say see Jacobi while you still can. He won't be acting forever.
It was awesome hanging out, Peter! This whole trip has had a lot of serendipity involving meeting friends from elsewhere or whom I know from elsewhere.
See you in New Orleans!
I can't poke my head into a train station, an airport, or a public square without running into you. That would make a good story even if the evening had not been so enjoyable. Bon voyage.
Seana: I'll certainly let you know if I see the play. It now looks like I'll be a spending at least one night post-Crimefest in London, so it's at least possible I'll attend.
