About Me
- Name: Peter Rozovsky
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
This blog is a proud winner of the 2009 Spinetingler Award for special services to the industry and its blogkeeper a proud former guest on Wisconsin Public Radio's Here on Earth. In civilian life I'm a copy editor in Philadelphia. When not reading crime fiction, I like to read history. When doing neither, I like to travel. When doing none of the above, I like listening to music or playing it, the latter rarely and badly. Click here to find an independent bookstore near you.

I absolutely love these photos, Peter.
Well done on the new camera.
Just to say I've updated
"The Widgeting Hour" and intend to spend some time posting there during the Summer holidays.
Thanks. Speaking of the Widgeting Hour, someone recommended that I set up an account for photo sharing. Is Flikr the place to do it?
What the heck are those Philadelphians doing having fireworks displays and June not even over?
Fireworks are banned here even on the Fourth, which doesn't mean there won't be plenty. This year the authorities will impose triple fines. It sounds harsh, but there is a drought. I don't think it will stop much, just make people more sneaky.
Seana, I will guess that the ban is due to the danger of wildfires. Here, fireworks have been expanding beyond July Fourth into a holiday week for several years, particularly at baseball parks. We love a good pyrotechnics exhibition.
